Coming from Den Haag, Rotterdam

Take the exit towards Amsterdam E19/A4. Follow signs to Leiden / Amsterdam. Go to Amsterdam on the A10, the ring road around Amsterdam. Take exit S114 in the Zeeburg-Zuiderzeeweg direction and turn after 0.5 km turn left into the Zuiderzeeweg. After 1.5 km turn right into the Zeeburgerdijk. After 200 meters, Lombokstraat is on your right.

Coming from Utrecht

From Utrecht take the N230 towards Maarssen. Go straight over two roundabouts and go onto the A2 towards Amsterdam. Continue on the S110. After 2.8 km turn right at s100/Stadhouderskade. Continue on the S100. Turn after 2.3 km turn right into the Zeeburgerdijk. After 200 meters, Lombokstraat is on your right.

Coming from Alkmaar

Take the exit towards Amsterdam E19/A4. Go to Amsterdam on A10, the ring road around Amsterdam. Take exit S114 in the Zeeburg-Zuiderzeeweg direction and turn after 0.5 km turn left into the Zuiderzeeweg. After 1.5 km turn right into the Zeeburgerdijk. After 200 meters, Lombokstraat is on your right.

Parking fees and the area

The institute is located in the Indische buurt, one of Amsterdam's most vibrant neighborhoods. By day, in the immediate vicinity of the IIRE, there is ample parking (Zeeburgerdijk and around the Insulindeweg).

Rate: € 2.10 per hour and free after 19:00. A day ticket costs € 12.60 (from 9 - 19.00 hours).

In the evening parking is less available in the vicinity. However, in the evening, there is plenty of parking on  Cruquiusweg and it's free. It is less than 10 minutes walk to the IIRE.

From there, walk west to the end of Cruquiusweg. Turn left onto Panamalann and cross over canals twice. Then turn left onto Zeeburgerdijk. 200 meters along is Lombokstraat, on the right hand side. The entrance to the IIRE is on your right at number 40.

Park and Ride

Leave your car at the edge of Zeeburg (on Zeeburgereiland) and travel by public transport. You do not have t worry about parking and 24 hour monitoring of your car. From there you continue your journey by bus 37 to Molenwijk (every 10 minutes) and get off at Molukkenstraat. From there it is 5 minutes walk to the IIRE. Cross the street and walk into Borneostraat. The second road on the right is the Lombokstraat. On the left is the entrance to the IIRE, at number 40.
